A) You are required to undertake the following activities:
Virus protection — runs an update to the virus definition files:
The first thing you do when running a virus protection is making sure that your anti-virus software is update if not try to download a new version off the Internet. After you verify it click on your anti-virus and run a search on it to find any virus on your computer and it will run a search to find any virus and then you can delete it.
Explain the effect of these activities on the performance of the computer system; indicate why they are undertaken and what benefits they bring to the system.
By performing these checks to your computer system it will make your computer run more smoothly with out any errors. This is because undertaking these checks on your computer system will allow you to access your programs faster and it will also portent your computer from getting any virus that may affect your system.
Benefits of doing all the checks on your computer system are very good; this is because it will allow you to use your system without having any virus, unauthorized access to your system and making sure that when running your programs ever thing running smoothly. It is also a very good idea to make back-up copies of impotent documents that are essential
To you, this is because if you had to re-boot your computer all your important documents will be deleted this is why you should make back up copies of your documents on a CD, USB or External Hard Drive.
The two software utility that I am going to talk about is Firewall and Drive formatting. The different between Firewall and drive formatting is that Firewall is a system designed to prevent unauthorized access to your computer. And drive formatting is where you format you drive so it cleans up and every thing that you had in your drive will be deleted. To have Firewalls in your computer system is very impotent because it stops unauthorized access to your computer, it is a barrier in your network that will only pass with an authorized from you to reach the other side otherwise it will be block.
Drive formatting is used when the user wanted to format there drive so every thing in your drive is clean and organised, drive formatting is used so your drive is clean but when doing this make sure you save you files or documents on a CD or a USB because when formatting the drive all the thing that are in the drive will be lost and deleted.
When Installing a DVD rewrite the first thing you must do is open up the base unite so you can see every thing that is inside the base unite. Once the base unite is open take off the extension bay so you can insert the DVD rewrite, once you have opened the extension bay place your DVD rewrite in the space by sliding it thought the hole. After you insert the DVD rewrite attach the IDE cable to the mother board and plug in the cable in to the DVD rewrite, once you have made the final check to your DVD rewrite make sure all the cables that where plugged in are connected. Once you are happy with the instalment put back on the case of the base unite and make sure your base unite works.
After doing the check on the bottom left corner of your screen there will be a massage saying that a new hardware is found, automatically a page will appear on the screen follow the instructions and click “Next”, once finished configuring the DVD rewrite try it out to make sure that every thing works.
Upgrades are done for different purpose for different users, for example some people may need to upgrade there computer or get a new operating system others will upgrade there computer so they can get better quality on there computer. There are many different types of upgrade that user do if someone has a computer at home they will need a basic upgrade depending on the user but people how work in company’s many need to have a bit more upgrade then user at home and if you think about sensitise they use super computer so when they upgrade they will need to upgrade a lot then home or company’s user.
There are many types of functions that the system uses to communicate. Some components communicate with cables some communicate with some sort of transmission or media.
I have £2500 with that I will need to buy a Mother board, Memory, Base united (Hard Drive), Monitor, Pinter, Scanner, Application software and Operating system. But I need to know how much all these components will cost and how many computers will I be able to supply. To get some of these parts we can go to a computer fair and by most of the component there which will be cheep compared to the shop but it will do the same job.

Application software (Microsoft Visual 2008) = £150
Operating system (windows XP) = £ 150
Here are all the components that I will need to build a system that work for the purpose of the company. The total cost of this will be for one computer = £815 this cost if for just one computer but I will supply them with two computer with the same components which will cost = £1630, also I will be buy two machine which are ready build for use. Building the second computer was cheaper because I did not need to buy another operating system, application software, Pinter or scanner this is because I can use the operating system, application software on any computer as many times and the Printer and scanner are shared on the computer with the same setting. I have also supplied them with two built computer ready to use but I will upgrade then using the new application software with the new version Microsoft office. The company give me a down payment of £2500 to supply them with one or more new computer systems to be used. I have supplied them with four new computers with all the essential upgrades. The total cost of two computer were = £1630 plus the ready build one = £600 the budget was £2500 I only spent £1630 I saved the company £270 for further upgrade if need. According to the director’s planes I have provide them with four new machines fully working and has all the necessary software and hardware
